Vacation Log

Day 1:

My family and I arrived at Toronto by plane, at around 8:30 am. During the time the plane was landing, my ears hurt a bit, and didn’t hear a lot, because of the changing air pressure. I tried the tricks my dad told me, and tried what he said, but the tricks didn’t do anything. When we got off the plane and into the airport, my ears were still like this. I was very annoyed about my ears. Once we found a place to sit, I felt the urge to go to the bathroom, but when I got there, I found that there were quite a lot of people in there. The washroom also smelled weird. So I walked back outside, to where my family was. We walked around, trying to find an exit, where we found the food court. We bought a Slurpee, two sandwiches, two shallow boxes of caesar salad, and a box of chicken, all from 7-Eleven, as the other restaurants were comparatively more expensive. After we ate, I slept for a bit. After looking around even more, we eventually found the exit that lead to the buses. When we got on a bus, we didn’t have the necessary items to go on the bus, but the driver was very kind, and let us go on for now, and then when the bus reached a place where we could buy tickets, he would stop there, and would wait until we bought the passes.

After riding a few buses, we reached the city Niagara Falls, and walked to the hotel that we would be staying in for only the remaining of today, and the rest of tomorrow. At the front desk, my mom also bought the waterslide pack, which was an envelope that held 4 wristbands, each lasting until tomorrow’s 7:00 pm.

In our room, we made ourselves at home, and then went to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark. At the waterpark, there were 4 tube slides, 2 slides that required mats, 2 slides that only required yourself, a wave pool that didn’t even make waves, 2 hot tubs, a play area called the Beachhouse with a big bucket on top that splashes everywhere, a toddler’s play area, and more. I was interested in the Beachhouse, so I went there first. It was basically a spraypark, which at certain times, that big bucket I mentioned earlier splashes everywhere, drenching you. After I lost interest in it, I went to the pool. Nothing that I should’ve been surprised about. Then, I grabbed a tube, and went into the lineup of people who were going down the tube waterslides. I went on the orange one which was all dark and the purple one, which had this part that made you go around and around, until you went into the middle, where you slide into the finish. That one was the most interesting one to me.

After going down these two slides, I went to the pool where my mom and my sister was. My mom wanted my sister to go down the waterslides, but my sister was scared. So, I went on a “waterslide adventure” with her.

First, I took my sister to the tinier waterslides at the Beachhouse. Then, we started riding the tube waterslides. We started with the two green and yellow waterslides, then we went on the orange one. Then, we waited for the purple waterslide, which my sister only got to ride once. After 7:00 pm, we went back to the hotel, and slept.

Day 2:

We woke up for breakfast, where there were bagels, normal slices of bread, english muffins, butter, cream cheese, etc.; sausage patties, egg patties, 3 varieties of cereal, milk, etc. Drinks you could choose from were coffee, tea, hot chocolate, orange juice, and apple juice. For my breakfast, I toasted 2 english muffins, then grabbed a sausage patty and an egg patty. I made these into a burger. Then, I got a cup of orange juice. My dad got the same burger, and my sister got a bagel, and spread cream cheese on it. I don’t remember what my mom got. After we ate breakfast, my sister wanted to go to the waterpark again, because our wristbands still could be used. So, we went there. This time, my sister and I went down the two pink and blue mat slides. They were not much fun as I had anticipated. By myself, as my sister was really scared of going down them, I went down the tall red waterslide, and the tall yellow one. The red one, I’m not sure what it does, but the yellow one was the one you could hear people screaming on all the time. It was called the Canyon Drop. Guess what happens on it.

So I went down it, and felt like I was falling to my demise. But it was over instantly. I went on that slide two times.

After we exited the waterpark, we went to our new hotel, which is called Days Inn & Suites. There, we ate Subway and then went to see the fireworks near Niagara Falls.

Day 3:

We wake up to eat breakfast, where after we take a bus to this place called Bird Kingdom. There, I get to take a lot of photos of lots of different kinds of birds. My sister and I also got to feed some Lorikeets with nectar. At one point, the Lorikeet that was on my arm to feed on the nectar climbed up my arm, to my neck, where it tried to grab a part of my sweater. It was kind of funny. After that, we took a cruise to go really close to the waterfalls. When the cruise reached the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, the cruise went into the mist, which rained onto the cruise ship, making my clothes really wet. But the photos made up for it. After we arrived back at the hotel, we booked a reservation for the pool.

Day 4:

We left the hotel, and took a few buses to get to a bus terminal which is run by a different company. The bus we went on had a lot of quality of life features, such as air conditioning for every seat. When we arrived at the train station, we got on a train and traveled to Union Station. On the train, the washrooms were interesting; The sink was shaped very weirdly, with the automatic soap dispenser put at an angle. The toilet was like the toilets you would find on a plane.

When we arrived at Union Station, we were feeling hungry, so we went to the food court, where we bought some Chinese food. When we exited the station, we went on a bus to the new place we were going to stay at for the rest of the trip. It wasn’t a hotel, though; we were going to stay in a college dorm.

For dinner, I don’t quite remember what we ate.

Day 5:

We ate ramen for breakfast, which was kind of funny in a way. Then we went outside and took the streetcar to the CN Tower. On our way there, I got to take a lot of cool photos, like a picture of a Tesla with a holographic rainbow paint job.

When we arrived at the CN Tower, we went up to the 360 restaurant. When we got there, I thought the tower part was spinning, but it was actually the dining area which was moving. For my meal, I was given the kid’s menu, which was quite limited, and unamusing, as I was turning 13 soon. On the kid’s menu, you could choose from caesar salad or chicken noodle soup as your appetizer, grilled cheese, chicken fingers, Atlantic Salmon, or spaghetti and meatballs as your main, and finally, either a vanilla ice cream sundae, or a Jumbo CN Tower Sprinkle Cookie as your dessert.

My sister ordered caesar salad (good choice), grilled cheese (WHY), and a vanilla ice cream sundae (good choice why would you get a cookie as your dessert). I also ordered caesar salad, and a vanilla ice cream sundae, but instead of grilled cheese (WHY), I ordered Atlantic Salmon.

After that scrumptious meal, we went down to the observation deck, where there were a lot of people. We took a few photos, and went to the elevator to leave, but then I saw a window that faced towards the ground. I told my sister to come over, and she was more scared than me. But eventually we both managed to walk across the glass. And later, I was able to lay down on it. It was really scary anyway, though.

When we exited the CN Tower, we walked to a beach, but it ended up being closed up due to some ceremony. So dad went off to buy things at the LobLaws store, while my sister and I played at a spray park. When we got back to the dorm, we ate dinner which was chicken wings, sushi, and fruit salad. The chicken wings had breading that was too soft, and didn’t taste very good.

Later in the night, we had to get up because of the fire alarm. I was very tired, so I was very happy when I got back in bed.
